December Online Library Workshops
The following LIVE online workshops are available in December to all Art Institute students, faculty, and staff. These workshops are hosted by the Ask Today On Call Library Service. All workshops are approximately 45-60 minutes in length.
Users must register prior to the workshop. Registration is simple—click on the link under the title of the workshop you wish to attend and follow the prompts. Attendees at the live workshops receive a certificate of completion.

Thursday, Dec 5, 2013: Research Skills in the Online Environment This webinar will help you: Focus and articulate your topic, state your topic as a question, identify the type of assignment, know whether you need information from a particular source and choose useful search terms and combinations.
Saturday, Dec 7, 2013: mages: Find Rights-Cleared Images for Assignments & Projects Learn how to search for and select images, print, save, and review copyright information from Britannica Image Quest, AP Images, and Art Source.
Sunday, Dec 8, 2013: Culinary and Hospitality Resources Learn about various resources available for the culinary and hotel restaurant management programs.
Tuesday, Dec 10, 2013: Online Library Orientation This session is hosted by library staff and provides an introduction to everything the Art Institutes Online Library has to offer.
Wednesday, Dec 11, 2013: Fashion Content: History of Fashion, Dress, and Costume Explore the Berg Fashion Library with integrated text, image, and journal content on world fashion and history. We’ll also explore the Vogue Archive database and how to access the entire run of Vogue magazine (US edition) from 1892 to present.
Friday, Dec 13, 2013: Ai Resources for Film Students The library has a variety of resources designed to support film students in their studies. This workshop will familiarize film students with the databases specifically for them, as well as how to utilize these databases effectively.
Saturday, Dec 14, 2013: Ai Material Connexion Material Connexion is a robust database that allows users to search for and browse materials by a variety of keywords, filters, and properties. This workshop will help you get the most out of this exciting resource!
Saturday, Dec 14, 2013: Locating Biographies in the Online Library BRC is a key resource when searching for biographical information. Become skilled at supplementing your research with other online library resources that also offer biographical facts.
Information Literacy Assessment
All entering and graduating students are required to take the Information Literacy Assessment. If you are a first quarter student, or finishing up please take the anonymous assessment. Remember to print out the final page of the assessment. You will need to show this to your librarian and instructor as proof that you completed it.
